Cercle Brugge has resolved the future of goalkeeper Warleson Delanghe by loaning him to Willem II. According to a report by MSN on Wednesday, the 23-year-old Brazilian will spend the remainder of the season with the Dutch second-tier club.
The loan move offers Delanghe a chance for playing time, which was limited at Cercle Brugge. He was behind first-choice keeper Radosław Majecki and the experienced Thomas Didillon in the pecking order this season. The Bruges-based club now lists three goalkeepers on its squad page, alongside Majecki and Didillon.
Why is Cercle loaning Delanghe out?
The primary reason is match practice. Delanghe has not featured in any official first-team matches since his arrival in 2023. A loan spell is intended to aid his further development. Technical director Carlos Avina indicated this move is in the player's best interest. "We believe it is important for Warleson to play regularly," Avina said. "At Willem II he will get that opportunity."
For Cercle Brugge, the deal is also practical. It trims the goalkeeping department to a manageable size and clarifies Didillon's role as the backup. The club currently sits sixth in the Jupiler Pro League standings and is focused on the league and the Belgian Cup.

For Willem II, Delanghe's arrival strengthens a key position. The Tilburg club competes in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie with ambitions to return to the Eredivisie. Delanghe will compete with their current goalkeepers. He brings experience from Flamengo's youth academy and his time in Belgium.
