Cercle Brugge has won the Re-cup-el through a significant collection of old mobile phones. This initiative, organized by Recupel, aims to raise awareness about electronic waste. During the playoffs, Cercle Brugge supporters were encouraged to hand in their old and broken mobile phones. This action was organized in collaboration with the football clubs OH Leuven and Union Saint-Gilloise. The victory in the Re-cup-el is attributed to the number of devices collected relative to the number of home supporters. As a result, the club received a cash prize of 5,000 euros. This amount will be used by Cercle Brugge for social activities, focusing on the fight against leukemia. The cash prize will be allocated for the annual themed match in September, organized in collaboration with the organization Me To You, in memory of former goalkeeper Miguel Van Damme. During this match, special shirts will be auctioned, and various awareness campaigns and a blood donation drive will take place.
