Cercle Brugge completes €1m deal for Charles Herrmann
Cercle Brugge has finalized a permanent transfer agreement with Borussia Mönchengladbach for midfielder Charles Herrmann. The 20-year-old, who provided an assist in his Bundesliga debut earlier this season, joins for a €1 million fee, including bonuses for the German club.
What does this mean for Cercle Brugge?
Herrmann’s arrival strengthens Cercle Brugge’s midfield. The Hannover-born player, who previously trained at Hannover 96 and Borussia Dortmund, will get more playing time in Belgium. Last season, Cercle Brugge finished second in the Jupiler Pro League with 38 points from 33 games (9W-11D-13L).
How is the transfer progressing?
According to insider Marlon Irlbacher, the final details of the deal are being worked out. Herrmann, who also plays for Germany’s U20 team, will soon join his new teammates. His first official match for Cercle Brugge could be against Charleroi at home on February 13, 2027.
What’s next?
Cercle Brugge hopes Herrmann will become a key midfield player. The club, which scored 48 goals and conceded 50 last season, will work to integrate the new signing quickly. The coming months will show whether Herrmann can meet expectations.
