FC Cincinnati Signs Kevin Denkey in MLS Record Transfer

FC Cincinnati has signed Belgian forward Kévin Denkey from Cercle Brugge for an MLS record transfer fee of $16.2 million. The club announced this Saturday that the 23-year-old will be under contract until 2027.

The Transfer and Role at Cincinnati

This signing fills a gap in FC Cincinnati's attacking lineup, which has been without Brandon Vázquez since January 2023. Denkey was the top scorer of the Belgian Pro League during the 2023-24 season with 27 goals and has already scored 11 goals in 23 league and cup matches this season.

Kevin Denkey's Career

Denkey began his career at French club Nimes, making his professional debut in 2017. He later loaned to Cercle Brugge in January 2021 and has since been one of the most effective players in the Belgian top division.

At just 94 goals from 237 official matches, Denkey is expected to provide a significant boost to FC Cincinnati's attack over the coming years. This transfer not only bolsters FC Cincinnati but also sets a new record in the MLS.
