Saudi club Al-Ahli is set to lose another foreign player, with Belgian defender Matteo Dams set to leave within 48 hours. According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Dams will move to Club Brugge, where he will play after 12 years away from Belgium. The transfer is finalized after all parties agreed on the deal. Dams, 22, returned to the Middle East in 2025 after a career at Antwerp, PSV Eindhoven, and Al-Ahli. He played 38 matches for Al-Ahli without scoring, but provided 3 assists. The defender had already ended his contract with Al-Ahli, like Algerian Riyad Mahrez and Ivorian Franck Kessié. Dams' return to Belgium marks the third foreign player Al-Ahli is losing during the current transfer window. The move ends a 12-year absence from Belgium for the defender, who will now become part of the Belgian league again.
