Transfer from PSV to Club Brugge
Club Brugge announced today the signing of 22-year-old defender Matteo Dams from PSV. Dams has signed a four-year contract, positioning him as the successor to Bjorn Meijer, who recently moved to Sampdoria.
Dams’ Journey
In January 2025, Dams made a surprising move from PSV to Al-Ahli. His stint there lasted a year and a half, during which he saw very limited playing time. Al-Ahli had paid roughly nine million euros to acquire Dams from PSV.
What’s Still Unclear
The exact fee paid by Club Brugge for Dams has not yet been disclosed. Nevertheless, the club has made it clear that he will be a key replacement for Meijer, who is now with Sampdoria.
